Lamborghini taste GT victory
in penultimate Asian Le Mans Series round at Sepang
JLOC gave Lamborghini its first GT class victory of the 2019-20 Asian Le Mans Series last weekend as Yuya Motojima, Yusaku Shibata and Takashi Kogure came out on top in the penultimate round at Sepang.
The #88 all Japanese outfit in the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo started from the back of the GT field after struggling in qualifying but made good progress throughout a race which began under safety car conditions due to a pre-race rain shower.
Kogure took the #88 to third place inside the opening half an hour before hitting the front in the hands of Shibata approaching the end of the second hour.
The trio consolidated second after another full course yellow period, this time for a stricken P3 car at Turn 9 but moved back into the lead thanks to a penalty for the leading Ferrari of Davide Rigon, Marcos Gomes and Liam Talbot.
The final round of the season takes place this weekend at the Buriram Circuit in Thailand.
