36 Hours of glory: Lamborghini is the first GTD manifacturer
to win the Daytona 24 hrs Hours and the Sebring 12 hrs Hours in the same year
After winning 8 championships in the 2017 season, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 set another masterpiece in history of motorsport. Lamborghini is the first GTD manufacture to win the Daytona 24 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours in the same year. The american races are two of the most famous endurance competitions in the world. The roll of honor of these events contains the gotha of sports car manufactures, and we can be proud to see Lamborghini Squadra Corse , the motorsport department of Automobiili Lamborghini born only 5 years ago, written on the 2018 line. The greatness of this record must be reached in details: in fact we can see 2 different teams and 7 different drivers at the top of the podium of the 2 races that means that the “customer racing” attitude of the department is not only a claim. Today, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 is the point of reference of the GT3 cars world, in fact our car wins not only with the Factory Drivers at the wheel, as Mirko Bortolotti at Daytona, but with all kind of drivers, both Professional and Amateur, that decide to compete with the support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse.
After the triumph at the Sebring 12 Hours, decided in the last laps of the race, and the third position at the Daytona 24 Hours, Paul Miller Racing leads the IMSA Sportscar Championship with 65 points. The crew formed by Bryan Sellers and the GT3 Junior Drivers of Lamborghini Squadra Corse Madison Snow and Corey Lewis is now focused on the next event of the IMSA Weathertech Championship that will be held in Long Beach (California) April 13 / 14 to defend the 1st place in the standing.
As for Grasser Racing Team, the winner of the Daytona 24 Hours with the crew formed by Lamborghini Factory Driver Mirko Bortolotti, Lamborghini Young Driver Rik Breukers, Franck Perera and Rolf Ineichen, is now focused on the European leg of its intense season.
Defend the Blancpain GT series title is the main objective of the 2018, where the Austrian team will field 3 entries at the first event in Monza April 21-22 with the #63 car formed by a full Lamborghini Factory Drivers line up by Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Christian Engelhart confirmed. The Team will also compete in the ADAC GT Masters with the Lamborghini Factory Drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Mirko Bortolotti, with Christian Engelhart that will find one of the Daytona’s legends, Rolf Ineichen as co-equiper.
