Official free practice sessions got underway this morning in Suzuka for the third stop of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series.

Clazzio Racing’s car #11 piloted by Malaysian Young Drivers Program graduate Afiq Yazid and Japanese driver Cozzolino Kei put in the best performance of the morning in the Pro class.

They were followed by car #50 of FFF Racing Team, the fastest in the Pro-Am class for the morning, piloted by Richard Goddard, besting FFF Racing Team’s Pro class car #5 and team driver Armaan Ebrahim.

Joining Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia for the first time this season, the #38 car of Pro-Am team HoJust Racing, comprising an all Japanese lineup of Toshiyuki Ochiai and Takeshi Matsumoto, demonstrated their local knowledge, putting in the third fastest run of the morning.

In the afternoon session, it was again Clazzio Racing who remained on top with an almost identical lap time as the morning session, at 2:02.8. This time they were followed by Hojust Racing, with a gap of 0.895 seconds, while another Japanese entry, Emperor Racing’s Pro class team car #63 piloted by Masami Kageyama followed just 0.2 seconds behind.
