The Auto Club Speedway, commonly known as "Fontana", is a D-shaped oval superspeedway in Fontana, California. Due to its close proximity to Los Angeles and Hollywood (it is only a one-hour drive), the track is often used for filming movies or television shows. The Speedway was built on the site of an former steel mill, which is why 3,000 cubic yards (2,300 m3) of contaminated soil and dirt had to be removed from the area. A 100-foot water tower was preserved in the infield as a tribute to the old steel mill.
Fontana hosts an annual NASCAR event on the oval but also features an infield. The Lamborghini Super Trofeo races will take place on the Sports Car Course, a combination of the infield technical track and a large part of the oval speedway.
