Double victory at Oulton Park

for the Barwell Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracán GT3

Perfect start to the 2017 British GT Championship for Barwell Motorsport team. At Oulton Park, opening round of the season, the #33 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 with John Minshaw and Phil Keen behind the wheel – vice champions of 2016 British GT - have literally dominated the race weekend.

After scoring the second position in both qualifying sessions, Race 1 sees John Minshaw gaining the lead of the race on the first lap, ahead the Bentley Continental GT3 started from pole position. Despite the pouring rain, the #33 Huracán GT3 of Barwell Motorsport managed to go away and gain twenty seconds before the pit window opening. During the second part of the race, Phil Keen administered the leadership and lead the Barwell Motorsport’s Huracán GT3 to its first win of the season. The sister Lamborghini fielded by the British team, the number 6 driven by Liam Griffin and Sam Tordoff, has also reached the second position, giving Barwell a well-deserved one-two at Oulton Park.

Race 2, held on a dry track, followed the same script of the previous race. Started in second place behind the Parker Racing team’s Bentley, the Lamborghini #33 with Phil Keen at the wheel was able to immediately take the lead, with a final part of the race conducted by the Safety Car but with no compromises for the victory of the Huracán GT3.

Thanks to two wins at Oulton Park, the duo Minshaw / Keen of Barwell Motorsport now leads the championship with 50 points, waiting for the second event on the track of Rockingham scheduled in the weekend of 29-30 April.
